Lake Hartwell

Lake Hartwell has 962 miles of shoreline and covers nearly 56,000 acres of surface water. One of the largest man made lakes in the South, and is one of the three most visited Corps of Engineer lakes in the country. Laker Hartwell offers fishing, camping, sailing and other recreational activities.

Fishing

Visitors to Hartwell are drawn to the inviting waters of Lake Hartwell, a world-class recreation destination offering national, regional and local fishing tournaments. These include the Charity Bass Fishing Tournament in September and the Kiwanis Golden K Fishing Tournament
in October. A soon-to-be complete Mega Ramp will bring in many more national tournaments for both the serious fisherman and the everyday angler.

Boating
For those looking to set sail across Lake Hartwell’s
pristine waters, Hart State Park, Big Oaks, Payne’s Creek and Gum Branch offer boating ramps to suit the needs of both fishermen, sailors,
and casual boaters. The Hartwell Marina and Harbor Light Marina both offer boaters comprehensive service for those looking to buy, store, or receive services including repairs.
